Great Day

Today has been a really great day.  Even though I have been able to go back to some old habits I really didn’t. It’s amazing what is normal now and what used to be normal.  I weighed in at 258.2 and won’t weigh in again until Feb. 15.  These are the few things that compose Phase 1 of the plan:

rn

No alcohol -  Exercise - Daily multivitamin- All 3 meals and one snack- water

rn

During phase 2 which is after the first four weeks, you then start taking food away and making changes to food.  He says not to change food for the first four weeks and you only weigh in on day one and then at the end of the four weeks.  I’m so excited.  I’ve not been able to put the book down which is a problem considering that I have homework.  UGh!!!
School is going really good as well.  I’m having fun in my English class. I met a real nice couple and am doing my group essay with them. I’ll be giving the lady a ride home every other Thursday and they bought me lunch for a thank you note.
I’m so excited about everything. I just hope everything goes the way I want it to.

Bob Greene’s Best Life Plan

Okay, I’ve got an official diet to follow.  DId anyone see Oprah on Tuesday?  I’m going to start the Bob Greene’s diet from that show. I bought the book today and absolutely love it.  I’m starting phase 1 tomorrow which has me adding more exercise but back to eating the way I was for a month.  The food changes happen after the first four weeks. I’m not going to go completely back to what I was doing but hubby says that I need to follow the plan to a T so we know it will work.  YOu do more then exercise. I have to quit eating two hours before bed. I’ll weigh in tomorrow morning and then put the scales away until four weeks then I’ll reweigh and start phase 2.  I’m so excited.  There’s more to it then I’ve just said but can’t remember off hand what it is.I’m going to make a  sheet to place on my fridge to remind me of the plan in detail and what phase I’m in so I can’t FORGET!  I’m so looking forward to this.  A friend of mine is doing it with me so it’ll help tremendously to be following the same plan as someone else. The one thing I really like about Bob Greene is that he goes beyond discussing food and exericse.  He wants you to delve into the how’s and why’s of weight loss.  He says you can’t fix your weight problem by just food and exericse or you risk the chance of gaining it back.  He has you answer how you got to the weight you are?  Why you have failed in the past?  WHy you eat in the first place?  We have to realize that there are many different things that make us overweight and it’s not just the food.  Why do you eat what you do?  I eat when I’m bored and when I’m stressed.   I eat because I want to fit in.  It’s hard but I’m going to break these habits.  I can and will do this!!!

I’m still around

First, got dryer fixed only $60 not to bad.
It’s been a pretty good year so far. I’m back in school so things are a little hectic.  I’ve not been very good of a buddy here so I’m sorry about that.  Trying to get myself in gear has been a challenge.  I’ve been working hard though. I try and have been succeeding most days to get at least 30 minutes of exerice in. I’ve walked in the cold and sometimes the rain.  I really should get my butt to the Y but it seems like to much hassle have the time.  I’ve been drinking my water.  My biggest problem is still with eating out.  It’s way to easy to grab something to eat out before class especially for lunch when I’m home by myself.  At night, hubby keeps me in check but hard during the day. I’m  going to try hard this week to stay away from eating out unless it’s Subway.    I have Tuesday and Friday off of classes so I have no excuses those days.  My classes are harder then last semester so it’s going to be a little stressful for me this semester.
Well, I’ll try not to be a stranger on here.
