Plans
When you’re laid up the easiest thing to do is sit around and think about what you want to do. I know what I want. I want to walk to bathroom in a minute and not five..lol!!!! I’m anxious to get out and exercise and help move this weight off. Don’t get me wrong. I’m getting some exercise now by just using the walker. I have to hop on one leg and keep my other leg up in the air. My palms feel like they are bruised.
My long term plans though are to get my leg back to 90% and get this weight off. I have plans. My SIL and I are going to take a night out to Indianapolis when we get to our 50 pounds gone mark. I’m so excited about that. It’s the first time in a long time that I have felt like I was going to succeed. Heck, I’ve never had this much motivation. Any other time I would have given up during a time when I was so bored. I know it helps that I just can’t get up and get what I want. My son is a good diet policeman. He makes sure that I stay on plan and will refuse to get me anything that I can’t have or don’t have points left for. He’s a great child. He doesn’t have a weight problem at all and we make sure he knows that. He also knows that I’m losing the weight for my health and not so much for my looks. My child is 11 and he’s never been embarraassed by me. My husband and I make sure that he knows to not judge someone on their looks but by how they are in the inside and how they treat people. I don’t feel my weight has held me back as much as my foot did. It’s time to fix them both. I’m so excited. I’m going to have a new leg, new body, and a new lease on life.
Shelley , you are so cute !!!!You will be able to get that body back soon. I’m proud of the fact that your son helps police you and doesn’t enable you ! I am very proud that you have such a positive attitude even when faced with adversity ! Stay positive ,stay focused ,and you will get there soon ! Kimmi
Your son sounds like a little sweetheart. I am glad that you are teaching him that what matters most on a person is what you can’t see. He will grow up to be a great human being.
Making plans is a positive thing to do. It gets you in the frame of mind that your situation is temporary and new, exciting things await you in the future.
Keep up the good work!

Aww He is such a great kid. I am looking forward to the night out. No kids, no husbands. How great will that be. Keep up the positive attitude.
Sounds like you guys are raising and upstanding young man, God knows we need more of those around. I also have a soon-to-be 11 year old boy. He is wonderful. A friend of mine and I were discussing how sweet and loveable boys are…she was telling her husband who would ever think men started out being so sweet and kind only to turn out like the insensitive men they are? Her husband’s response was a good one–good comeback. He told her that little girls made them that way! LOL!!
Anyhow, I don’t know what happened to your foot, but I sincerely hope it heals quickly. I know for me, it’s tragic when I’m told I can’t do something physical. It’s one thing to choose not to exercise and another one when you can’t. Still, there are other ways you can exercise I am sure. I recommend you look up Tatiana, she’s a buddy here who also hurt her foot and still manages to get some activity done.
On another note, I noticed that our ultimate goal is the same, so I want to be here for you, so we can get to the finish line–let’s do like Nike and JUST DO IT!!
It sounds like your spirits are holding strong. Or is it strong spirits are holding you?? Just kidding. I’m glad you are getting better. Have you discussed with your therapy doctor what exercises you could be doing now? I’m sure it would help you feel pro-active!
